Update on consultations

9th May 2019

European elections are due to be held between 23 and 26 May. In the lead up to elections, there are certain restrictions put in place on what public bodies such as NHS organisations can announce, and this includes new consultations.

This period of time leading up to an election is known as the pre-election period, or ‘purdah’ and it is in place to ensure the activities of public bodies do not have an influence on the outcome of elections.

Therefore, in line with government guidance, all new consultations have been delayed until after the period of purdah has ended.
