Public consultation launched on the provision of primary care (GP) services to patients in Fairstead, King’s Lynn

30th May 2019

Vida Healthcare has launched a public consultation today, 30 May, on the provision of primary care (GP) services to patients in Fairstead, King’s Lynn.

The consultation called “Providing Primary Care Services to the Patients of Fairstead” is being run by Healthwatch Norfolk, an independent champion for patients and service users in Norfolk. It will run until August 30 and is supported by NHS West Norfolk Clinical Commissioning Group.

The consultation document can be found online here:  https://www.healthwatchnorfolk.co.uk/fairstead-primary-care-consultation/

Vida Healthcare is keen to hear what people think of the changes that are being proposed in the consultation document and is encouraging patients at Fairstead branch surgery, interested groups and individuals, and the wider community in King’s Lynn, to share their views and thoughts.

Residents can have their say by completing the consultation survey, or by attending one of three public workshops, which will be chaired by Healthwatch Norfolk.

Dates and locations of the public workshops are as follows:

  • Tuesday 11 June, 10:30-12:00, Fairstead Community Centre
  • Tuesday 9 July, 10:30-12:00, Fairstead Community Centre
  • Wednesday 14 August 19:00-20:30, Gayton Road Health Centre

A separate workshop will be organised for local members of the deaf community, which will take place in July.

The survey can be completed online via the Healthwatch Norfolk website. People may choose to give feedback anonymously if they wish.

Alternatively, paper copies can be picked up at premises in the local area, including Fairstead Surgery, Well Pharmacy, and surrounding shops on the Fairstead estate.

Throughout the summer, Healthwatch Norfolk will also be running series of ‘pop-up’ events until the end of the consultation period, the dates of which will be announced on their website.

All contributions made by members of the public will be compiled by Healthwatch Norfolk, and used to write a report that will be presented to Vida Healthcare. The report will be published online to be accessible for the general public.
